Baria Alamuddin chose a complementary earth-toned look rather than matching her daughter exactly. Her outfit featured a flowing white blouse with patterned semi-sheer sleeves, wide-leg brown trousers, a woven hat, oversized sunglasses and woven platform shoes.

Amal’s trip included participation in UNESCO’s 2026 Annual Meeting of Goodwill Ambassadors. The Athens gathering was notable because it was the first time the annual meeting had been held outside UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris.

At the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Amal joined UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Costantza Sbokou-Constantakopoulou for a panel examining “Artificial Intelligence and Culture.” Their discussion focused on how AI is affecting culture and why human creativity, diversity and shared values remain important as the technology develops.

Amal also addressed the role of culture amid prolonged conflicts and social divisions, describing it as a way of emphasizing shared interests and experiences.

Greece Meetings and Parthenon Sculptures

Beyond the UNESCO program, Amal met Greek President Konstantinos Tassoulas and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.Her meeting with Mitsotakis included discussions about culture, cultural diplomacy and the potential reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures in Athens.

The issue has a longstanding connection to Amal’s legal work: in 2014, the Greek government commissioned Doughty Street Chambers, where she practices as a barrister, to examine potential legal avenues concerning the sculptures.

The Athens appearance brought together two distinct sides of Amal’s public profile: her international legal and cultural work and her highly visible personal style. Her airport outing with Baria followed formal diplomatic and UNESCO engagements, giving the trip a quieter family moment before their departure from Greece.
