Rhea Seehorn’s First Emmy Win
Rhea Seehorn won the Emmy for best lead actress in a drama series for her performance in Pluribus at the 2026 Emmys, marking her first victory from four acting nominations.
During her acceptance speech Monday night at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, Seehorn opened with humor, joking that her calm appearance was only because she was taking a beta blocker.
She then thanked the Television Academy members who voted for her, along with Pluribus creator Vince Gilligan.
Seehorn credited Gilligan with giving her “the role of a lifetime” and praised the production environment for allowing the cast and crew to collaborate and take creative risks.
The actress also recognized the series’ crew, producers, writers, background performers and casting team before turning her attention to her fellow nominees.
Seehorn congratulated the other actresses competing in the category and highlighted a message connected to Gloria Steinem that had been shared with the group.
She recalled the sentiment, “We are linked, not ranked,” saying it reflected how she viewed the women nominated alongside her.
Her 2026 category included Carrie Coon for The Gilded Age, Chase Infiniti for The Testaments, Keri Russell for The Diplomat and Zendaya for Euphoria.
The victory adds another milestone to Seehorn’s awards history. Before Monday’s ceremony, she had received two supporting-actress nominations for Better Call Saul and another nomination for Cooper’s Bar.
Pluribus, produced by Sony Pictures Television in association with Apple, entered the 2026 Emmys with 18 nominations. The series had already secured four victories at the Creative Arts Emmys, including awards for main title music and sound mixing for a comedy.
