Olivia Rodrigo Opens Unraveled Tour With Flowers, Hits and a Surprise

KEY POINT

  • Rodrigo performed 23 songs during the opening night concert in Hartford without an encore.
  • The set combined tracks from You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love with songs from her earlier albums.
  • A flower filled stage and six part structure gave the tour a noticeably different visual identity from her 2025 festival performances.

Rodrigo began the show at 8 p.m., opening with “Drop Dead” in an entrance designed around the production’s extensive floral setting. She remained hidden among the flowers during the first verse before emerging as the song moved into its chorus, followed by purple confetti and a guitar driven performance.

The concert then moved through “U + Me = <3” and “So American,” creating an early romantic stretch before “Good 4 U” shifted the mood toward pop-punk intensity. During “U + Me,” Rodrigo also played a piano solo and revealed underwear carrying a Hartford-themed message.

The production was divided into six sections loosely connected to the four seasons. Flowers remained a central feature throughout the performance, with a crew repeatedly rearranging the stage between songs. Her wardrobe also changed across the show, moving from formal, princess-inspired looks to 1990s influenced streetwear.

The new album received substantial representation, but Rodrigo did not present the concert as a straightforward recreation of its storyline. Songs about romance and breakups were deliberately placed alongside one another, while “Begged” was the only new track she introduced with a personal story.

Her all woman band included guitarists Daisy Spencer and Arianna Powell. Rodrigo kept between song conversation limited, particularly during the first half, allowing the music and staging to carry much of the performance.

“Bad Idea Right?” and “Vampire” were among the highlighted performances, while “Favorite Crime” and “Drivers License” received strong audience responses during Rodrigo’s solo piano section.

The finale featured “Deja Vu” followed by “All-American Bitch.” Several songs, including “Brutal,” “Obsessed” and “Get Him Back!,” were absent from the set.
