Hathaway, 43, appeared at the AMC Lincoln Square 13 premiere as she continues to promote one of her busiest film years. The actress plays bestselling author Verity Crawford in the psychological thriller, an adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2018 novel.
Her red carpet look combined maternity dressing with a formal evening silhouette. The black gown featured lace detailing and a mermaid cut, while a sheer, glittery cape element extended the look. Walsh styled Hathaway for the event, with the outfit sourced from Prabal Gurung’s atelier collection.
She completed the ensemble with a diamond bracelet and teardrop-shaped earrings. For beauty, Hathaway chose a bronze-toned eye look and nude matte lipstick, while wearing her long brunette hair half up and half down.
In Verity, Dakota Johnson portrays Lowen, a struggling writer who receives an opportunity to complete the work of the titular author after Verity becomes unable to finish her successful book series. Josh Hartnett plays Jeremy, Verity’s husband.
The film marks Hathaway’s fifth movie of 2026, adding to a packed promotional schedule during her pregnancy. She has also appeared publicly while promoting The Odyssey and The End of Oak Street.
Hathaway announced her pregnancy in June. She and husband Adam Shulman, 45, already have two sons, Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6. The couple has chosen not to publicly reveal the sex of their third baby.
Hathaway’s Verity premiere appearance follows another New York fashion event earlier this month. On Sept. 9, she attended Bulgari’s Serpenti Infinito event on the Chelsea High Line wearing a strapless lilac chiffon gown by McQueen.
For that appearance, the Bulgari ambassador paired the dress with gold metallic heels and a Bulgari necklace featuring a deep purple gemstone.
In July, Hathaway described this period of her life to PEOPLE as “very, very fun” and “extremely surreal.”
Verity is set to open in theaters on Oct. 2, giving audiences their first opportunity to see Hathaway as the mysterious bestselling author at the center of the psychological thriller.
