Drew Starkey and Cailee Spaeny are at the center of renewed romance reports after being spotted holding hands during a casual outing in Los Angeles on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026.
The sighting was shared by DeuxMoi and has prompted reports that the actors may be romantically involved. While one report describes the appearance as confirming their relationship, the available information does not include a direct statement from either Starkey or Spaeny publicly confirming their romance.
The two actors have an established professional connection through Deep Cuts, an upcoming A24 film in which they star together. The project has become an important part of the timeline surrounding the relationship speculation because the pair filmed the movie earlier this year.
Deadline previously reported that Deep Cuts is set in the 2000s and follows two music-obsessed twentysomethings as they navigate ambition, belonging and adulthood. Starkey and Spaeny play romantic partners in the film, according to the supplied reports.
That on screen relationship has provided context for the speculation surrounding the actors off screen. Reports about a possible romance intensified after production wrapped, eventually leading to the recent Los Angeles sighting.
For now, the clearest reported development is the public appearance itself. Neither supplied report includes comments from Starkey or Spaeny explaining when their relationship may have begun or formally confirming its status.
Starkey and Spaeny worked together on Deep Cuts and were reportedly photographed holding hands in Los Angeles on Oct. 2. The reports also establish that speculation about a possible relationship had been circulating for months.
Details about their private relationship, including when it began, have not been provided in the supplied reports.
