The newly shared footage captures a quieter side of Taylor Swift’s creative process, with Travis Kelce offering support while she worked on her music video. In the short clip, Kelce stands behind Swift in the director’s chair, placing his arms around her shoulders and rubbing them as she watches footage from the shoot.
The moment appeared in an expanded behind the scenes feature released on Spotify. Kelce’s brief appearance offers a glimpse of the couple together away from their public appearances and the Kansas City Chiefs star’s football commitments.
The footage was recorded in March at the Beverly Hills filming location. At the time, Swift and Kelce had not yet married; their wedding took place in July, according to the supplied reports.
Kelce wore an Elwood baseball cap and a black and white checked polo during the shoot. Although his appearance was brief, the clip showed him beside Swift as she concentrated on reviewing the production.
Swift directed “Patient Zero,” which premiered on Sept. 27. The production features actors Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, alongside a cameo from Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.
The release also followed a major recognition for Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards. She received the ceremony’s inaugural Artist Director Honors shortly before the music video premiered.
Kelce was unable to attend the awards ceremony because he was in Miami with the Chiefs for their game against the Dolphins. However, he showed his support online by liking a Good Morning America post celebrating Swift’s appearance on the awards’ red carpet.
The Spotify footage adds another detail to the story behind the music video, showing Kelce present during the creative work that preceded its public release.Swift has previously discussed how Kelce’s enthusiasm for his own profession helps him understand her commitment to music.
In an interview with BBC Radio 2 last October, she explained that she values being with someone who appreciates how fulfilled she feels making art and music. She also described their shared passion for their respective careers as a connection that strengthens their relationship.
Swift said supporting one another was one of the most enjoyable aspects of their partnership. Her comments provide context for the newly released footage, in which Kelce appears alongside her while she works.
Swift previously explained the personal experience that inspired the song. Speaking to Capital FM, she recalled a friend being contacted by the new girlfriend of a former partner, who wanted to know whether the friend had experienced similar behavior.
According to Swift, other people in the group began sharing comparable experiences of their own. That conversation became the starting point for “Patient Zero.”
The newly shared footage connects that songwriting story with a glimpse of the production process, while also documenting Kelce’s presence during an important part of Swift’s work.
