In an interview with L’Officiel, Jolie described her next chapter as one focused less on a fixed routine and more on travel, community and hands-on work. She said she wants to spend more time connecting with people around the world rather than approaching travel as a conventional vacation.
Jolie also revealed that her children have their own ideas about how she should use this newfound freedom. She said they would like to hear from her while she is abroad working with artists and communities, reflecting their support for a more independent chapter in her life.
Rather than establishing another permanent base immediately, Jolie said she would prefer to live somewhat nomadically for a period of time. Her plan includes maintaining a home base for family life while spending substantial time in other countries.
She also mentioned wanting to return to activities such as riding her motorcycle and flying, alongside broader international travel. For Jolie, the change appears closely connected to having fewer parental responsibilities as her children move into adulthood.
Jolie’s plans extend beyond personal travel. She wants Atelier Jolie, her creative collective, to develop an international presence by working directly with artists and makers in different parts of the world.
Brazil could become the first location outside the United States where Atelier Jolie establishes a physical space, according to Jolie. She said the wider goal has always been to make the project global and to build connections with local creative communities.
Humanitarian work will remain another major part of Jolie’s plans. She said she intends to return to more hands-on work with her foundation in Cambodia while continuing field work elsewhere.
Cambodia has a longstanding personal and philanthropic connection for Jolie. She adopted her son Maddox from an orphanage in Battambang in 2002 and later established the Maddox Foundation, which bears his name.
Her relationship with the country also developed into broader recognition for her humanitarian efforts, including honorary Cambodian citizenship in 2005.
With all six children now adults, Jolie’s priorities are changing without removing family from her plans. She said she wants a home base where family life and photographs can remain centered while allowing herself greater freedom to travel.
She also plans to use her home in Cambodia as a residency for part of the year, with a focus on Khmer culture. That arrangement would combine her family connection to the country with her interest in cultural and artistic work.
Jolie’s immediate plans center on international travel, creative collaborations and humanitarian projects rather than establishing a single permanent base.
