Zendaya Makes a Dramatic Return to the Pixie Cut

KEY POINT

Zendaya debuted a fully cropped pixie cut at Prada’s New York Fashion Week event.

The hairstyle features short sides and back with soft curls styled high on the crown.

Her Prada outfit and lavender-toned makeup were designed to complement the haircut’s softer aesthetic.

Zendaya has returned to one of the shortest hairstyles she has worn in recent memory, debuting a fully developed pixie cut at the Prada Paradoxe pop-up party during New York Fashion Week.

The new Zendaya pixie cut is closely cropped around the back while the hair on top is shaped into soft curls. The curls were lifted and fluffed to create an airy finish, giving the otherwise short hairstyle a relaxed and romantic appearance.

The haircut represents another step in Zendaya’s recent experimentation with shorter styles. Around Christmas last year, she moved toward a curly bob-pixie combination before later wearing a longer bixie. Her latest appearance shows that she has now committed fully to the shorter silhouette.

The change is particularly noticeable after Zendaya’s recent The Odyssey promotional appearances, where she wore dramatically longer hair. During that press tour, hairstylist Coree Moreno created waist-skimming waves and added extensions that complemented her couture outfits.

At Prada’s event, however, the styling moved in a different direction. Zendaya wore a bottle-green sweater over a pink button-down shirt with a brown slip skirt decorated with chartreuse embellishments. The combination softened the visual impact of the very short haircut instead of emphasizing its sharper side.

Beauty Look

Her makeup followed the same understated approach. Longtime collaborator Ernesto Casillas created what he called the “wisteria look,” using lavender tones alongside Zendaya’s summer tan.

Prada Beauty products were central to the makeup, including Cherry Touch Cream-to-Powder Blush across the cheeks and nose and Dimensions Eyeshadow in 01 Portrait. Prada Balm in Noisette provided a dewy finish.

Casillas also prepared Zendaya’s skin with Prada’s Augmented Skin Cream, Essence and Eye Cream before applying Reveal Skin Optimizing Foundation and Blurring + Micro-Correcting Concealer. Doll-like lashes completed the look.

Another Look at the Pixie

Later, Zendaya was seen heading to dinner in New York with her Euphoria co-stars Hunter Schafer and Alexa Demie. Her more casual outfit included a red sweater, straight-leg white jeans and black patent loafers.

The appearance also demonstrated how differently the haircut could look outside the polished Prada styling. With the short crop visible around the nape and tousled curls remaining on top, the pixie became the defining feature of the more relaxed ensemble.

Zendaya’s latest appearance shows the versatility of a very short hairstyle while marking a clear contrast with the long, dramatic looks she recently wore for The Odyssey. With Fashion Month underway, the new pixie gives her another styling direction to explore through upcoming appearances.
