Minka Kelly and Dan Reynolds have ended their relationship after four years of dating, according to PEOPLE. A source close to the couple told the publication that the split “happened recently.” Representatives for both stars did not respond to PEOPLE’s requests for comment.
Kelly, 46, and Reynolds, 39, initially met through a mutual friend in 2022. They reportedly connected over their creative work and were first spotted together in Los Angeles that fall, beginning a relationship that would remain relatively private despite occasional public appearances.
The pair’s relationship became more visible in February 2024, when they were photographed sharing a kiss while attending a soccer match between Inter Miami and the Los Angeles Galaxy. Later that year, they attended a screening of Gladiator II at Paramount Pictures Studios.
Their latest known red carpet appearance came in May 2026 at the Museum of Contemporary Art’s 2026 Gala. Kelly shared a photo from the occasion on Instagram, referring to the evening as “date night” and thanking the museum for having them.
Kelly continued to share affectionate glimpses of Reynolds during the summer. In July, she posted photos from a Disneyland family trip involving Reynolds and his children, writing, “No place I’d rather be 💗.” She also marked his birthday with a tribute thanking him for making ordinary days feel extraordinary and for making her laugh.
The couple were still appearing together publicly online in August. Kelly posted a playful video about her morning routine in which Reynolds appeared off camera while helping with her skincare regimen.
Their personal relationship also crossed into Kelly’s work on Ransom Canyon. Reynolds appeared in the first season as cattle buyer Billy Brinks, and Kelly told PEOPLE that they had attempted to find a way to bring his character back in the latest installment.
Reynolds also helped Kelly prepare for her role by teaching her piano. Kelly explained that she would ask him to demonstrate where her hands should go before repeatedly practicing until she had memorized the part.
Family life was another part of their relationship. Reynolds shares four children Arrow, Valentine, Gia and Coco with his former wife, musician Aja Volkman. In July 2024, Reynolds told PEOPLE that his children “love” Kelly and said the couple had been careful and gradual about bringing her into the family dynamic.
Despite their public appearances and social media posts earlier this year, neither Kelly nor Reynolds has publicly addressed the reason for their separation. PEOPLE reported that the breakup occurred recently, marking the reported end of their four-year romance.
