Prince Harry took part in the charity skydive near Toronto as part of an effort to raise awareness and support for military charities. The jump fulfilled a personal promise connected to his meeting with veteran Ed Marshall.
Harry first met Marshall during a visit to the veterans center at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto last November. Their shared military backgrounds and commitment to the veteran community led to a plan for the pair to make the jump together.
However, a medical evaluation later determined that Marshall, who is 102, could not safely take part in the skydive. His grandson Bailey stepped in and joined Harry for the challenge instead.
Marshall was still able to be part of the experience. He accompanied Harry and his grandson on the flight and watched as they completed the jump.
Harry contacted his wife, Harry Toronto skydive, Ed Marshall veteran, Bailey skydive, Meghan Markle,, immediately after landing. He joked about her reaction, saying she was “relieved once we were down.”
The Duke also provided a brief update about his children as the family adjusts to its move to the UK Harry said Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are “happy in school.”
The skydive combined Harry’s personal connection with a World War II veteran and his continuing support for military related charitable causes. Although Marshall could not make the jump himself, his grandson helped Harry complete the promise they had made together.
